Buried Beneath: A Shallow Grave crowdsale is live!

I'm excited to announce the release of Buried Beneath: A Shallow Grave (expansion), a Gothic, Dark Fantasy, Worker Placement, Hero Defense Puzzle game that promises to be both challenging and highly atmospheric. In this game, players take on the role of a retired adventurer who must defend a peaceful village under attack from an ancient evil and a throng of agitated monsters. The game's unique twist is that players must strategically place villager meeples in different locations in the village to increase their stats and perform actions, turning the game into a resource management worker placement game. This adds a challenging puzzle element to the gameplay, requiring intelligent planning and tactics.

The enemies in the game are represented by dice, and they spawn from their cards each round and shamble towards the center of the village, attacking as they go. Each monster type has its own movement and attack rules, adding variety and keeping the game interesting. After four waves of enemies, the game culminates in a big unique boss fight. The game is ideal for solo play, as there is no randomness aside from the initial setup.

The expansion more than doubles the content of the base game and adds support for bringing a friend with you on the defense. You can choose to play all the content solo or invite a friend to aid you in saving the village. The expansion also introduces new heroes, monsters, bosses, items, and locations to explore. Additionally, new mechanics like the shady Shop Keeper, who may offer helpful weapons and accessories that boost stats and grant one-time bonuses or abilities, have been added.
