In Interregnum, 3-5 players strive to build a coterie of influential nobles, courtiers, servants and soldiers who will support their claim to the throne. During each round they take turns trying to recruit characters cards from their hands. 
Supporters recruited this way provide players with power (victory points) as well as influence over different factions and useful skills.
Other contenders use whatever influence they have to stop you, so rotten compromises and short-term alliances are necessary along the way. 
If you play your cards right and outsmart the competition, the crown will be yours.
