"I played with my niece and she enjoyed it so much we played it 8 times in a row!" - Christopher Bowen (Shenanigan Games)
"Don't Flip a Ninja" is a card-matching game in which players flip cards in the castle courtyard using their intuition and memory to try and make the most beneficial matches. It's similar the classic "Concentration" except that this deck has ninjas hiding in it! And shuriken. And oni.
THE GOAL: Prevent the ninja pawn from advancing all the way to the castle and try not to take too many wounds. This may sound simple, but as you flip cards, the ninjas will have hidden, dastardly surprises waiting for you.
If you flip a shuriken you will take a wound. Flip ninjas and the ninja pawn advances. Flip oni and chaotic events can happen.
Your tools are your trusty katana, the Emperor's samurai and a keen memory. If you can match two samurai, you will send the ninja pawn retreating. Match nobori (banners) to rally the samurai. Match sakura (cherry blossoms), to sooth your wounds.
HOW YOU DO IT: Each player in turn chooses two face-down courtyard cards to flip face-up as they try to discern which cards would be most beneficial for success. Paying attention to cards flipped by other players on their turn will help guide that decision.
The game plays solitaire or cooperatively with up to 4 players. It can be enjoyed by all ages and offers a challenge for even seasoned, enthusiast gamers.
