Encounters in the Dark

There’s a snake in my boot! Plenty of adventuring environments are filled with small encounters and minor perils that get lost between hunting behirs and schmoozing kings. In this collection of minor encounters, PCs are given some much needed and rarely attained personal time. They are dealt out a card with some simple instructions which they follow in silence, keeping their cohort in the dark about what exactly is going on. Have they fallen prey to a sleeping spider, and are laying face-down in the mud only a few meters from camp? Perhaps a chance encounter with a dryad has caused them a harmless delay in collecting supplies. Perhaps when they return from camp, something is not at all what it seems. Ancient magics, dopplegangers, snakes, spiders and spooks, there are plenty of dangers lurking just beyond the campfire, but there are also forgotten treasures, chance meetings and beautiful scenes to behold.
