Immune Force is a cooperative game for any number of players (best if 1-4) ages 12+. For younger players, an adult probably needs to read the cards and remind them of each step in the complicated turns.
The goal is to cure the patient of 5 diseases — or whatever number is chosen by the players at the start of the game. The board is a human body. Diseases are started by random card draws and the players move immune system cells to the infection to destroy it. Other cards are vaccinations, treatments (antibiotics, antivirals and others).
The game is mostly luck with opportunity for strategy in the placement of immune system pieces, the management of treatment cards, and some planning for surprises.
The patient usually survives with proper play. I made this game to help my grandson get over his fear of germs. It worked.
25% of the profits from sales of this game through the year 2024 will be donated to the Benaroya Research Institute Virginia Mason in Seattle.
The game contains: 15 microbes (or cancer) 15 parasites (or fungi)
28 macrophages 28 neutrophils 8 dendritic cells 28 killer T-cells 14 bacteriophages
6 6-sided dice 67 cards (26 DISEASE cards, 14 PREVENTION cards, 10 TREATMENT cards, 17 DEFENDER cards)
