Smuggled is the successor to the Crazy Father's Games title "Schmuggleware". With the release of Smuggled, we have discontinued sale of the earlier title. We sincerely hope you enjoy the greater number of cargo cards in this fully illustrated version of the game you've come to love!
Each player begins the game with one set of 11 BID cards. The CARGO deck is shuffled and placed face-down.
Each round begins by turning the top card of the CARGO deck face-up. Each player who still has BID cards in their hand chooses one of their BID cards and places it face-down in front of them. Once all players have placed their BID, all players turn their cards face-up simultaneously. The player with the highest bid card showing takes the CARGO card. All played BID cards are discarded to end the round.
In the event of a tie, another CARGO card is added to the original to create a package deal! Each player involved in the tie bids as normal. Only players involved in the tie are eligible to bid on the package. All players then turn their cards face-up and the highest BID takes the entire package! If another tie occurs, another CARGO card is added to the package deal and bid on again. Once the package is won by a player, all BID cards played are discarded to end the round.
The game ends when no player holds any more BID cards. If only one player has BID cards remaining in their hand, they continue to purchase CARGO items until their hand is depleted. Each player adds up the value of their CARGO cards and the player with the greatest total value wins!
Rather than declaring the winner at the end of each hand, keep track of a running sum of each players' points. Upon completing each hand, add all players' total value to their running score. The first to reach 500, 1,000, or 2,500 points is the winner!
The classic game theory "Game Of Pure Strategy" (GOPS), also known as "Goofspiel", can easily be played with your Smuggled deck. Remove the mystery item cards, and one of each value CARGO card from the deck leaving a 10 card CARGO deck with one card of each value. Finally, remove the "Abstain" cards from each players' hand to play the classic game.
Each copy of Smuggled is packaged in an unfoldable Hook Box with the rules of play printed on the inside. The box contains:
1 CARGO DECK of 33 unique, fully-illustrated cargo cards.
5 BID DECKS of 11 cards, each with a unique back, illustrated with the image of one of the unusual characters bidding in this auction of the bizarre.
Each deck has a unique back to allow rapid separation of cards for quick setup and gameplay.
