Hi, I'm Chris and I designed the Sparrow's Knot. I just wanted to share the why and how this game came to be. I remember distinctly sitting in my kitchen on a snowy morning and watching the birds picking at the bird feeder outside my window. It was very peaceful, and after a few minutes I really wished I had a quick little game that could match the vibe. And that was the origin of Sparrow's Knot. I actually worked backwards for this game, I gave myself a set of ideas and restrictions: calming, versatile, easy to play, I could pick up right where I left off, small footprint... There was no real theme for the game, but given that birds were the inspiration it only seemed appropriate. I purchased a bundle of public domain art from 19th century bird books, decided to add a unique background to each card and came up with the name (FYI, a term used for a group of Sparrows is a "knot". With the puzzling nature of the game, it was a no-brainer). It took a lot of refinement, but here we are. I am extremely pleased with how it came out, and I hope you enjoy it too!

The beautiful pictures of the birds used in this game are public domain images that are eligible for commercial use. I purchased these historical pieces from somebody who put in the time and effort to collect them. They compiled the art and listed their sources to ensure its fair use. In the spirit of transparency, I'm providing a source they used below, but I also don’t want to reveal too much of their work. If you still have any concerns feel free to contact me.

The cover and background images were from freepik.com. I purchased the license to use these images in my game. It’s a fantastic resource (incase any fellow designers who are reading this). I highly recommend checking it out.
