Description

The Nordic Runes are an ancient system of magic and divination. Like the Tarot, the Runes are a set of symbols which can be used to access the subconscious, higher self, and read the energy of a situation.

“The Utopian Futhark” is a deck of cards depicting the 24 Runes of the Elder Futhark as collages. These collages express the different meanings of the Runes in a visual format, making it easy to learn the Runic system and build upon one’s familiarity with the Runes. This deck comes with a BOOKLET for your convenience in learning and remembering the meanings of the Runes, and for use in divination readings. This book of meanings is written by the artist and reflects the artist's research and meditation with the Runes.

INCLUDES:

• 25 Full-Color Illustrated Round Cards

• All 24 Nordic Runes plus one blank "Odin's Rune"

• Booklet containing meanings for each rune

How to Use these Cards: Single Card Draw: Some like to begin their use of divination cards by pulling a "card of the day" at random. One can then reflect on this card's meaning throughout the day. I also pull a single card when I come to a question or problem: I ask "what attitude should I bring to this situation?" and pull a card, opening myself to a new direction or angle through which to consider my question

Three Card Draw: A simple "spread" borrowed from Tarot is the "Three Card Draw," which is read as Past, Present, and Future. The Past is the energies we are coming from, the Present is the energies we are in, and the Future is the energies into which we are moving.

There are many hundreds of other "spreads" which can be looked up online. The runes can also be used in magic, focus, meditation, and ritual magick. The Booklet describes the energies and forces present in each rune, which will help the owner decide what kinds of magic can be harnessed in each. Because these cards are visual representations of the runes, they have the benefit of providing a focus point for meditation and summoning of energy.

Why The "Utopian Futhark"? The Runes are a system that opens itself to anyone, and everyone, that wishes to explore them. My own study of the Runes led me down a path of many revelations, all of which point towards a better world: a world of inclusion, harmony, equality and dignity for all. The Utopian Futhark is my artistic impression of the path towards awakening which the Nordic Runes provide, the gift of Odin which was brought at great cost to the world,

The "Utopian Futhark" is an expression of the gifts which the study of the Runes brought me; gifts of understanding and integrating traumatic memories, becoming powerful and strong in the eyes of the gods, discovering the connectedness and unified destiny of all humankind, and many other things. The Runes are truly for all who wish to learn and use them, and I hope to offer this deck as a way to help all learn, study, and integrate the meanings, messages and teachings of this ancient system.
