Description
Two alien mushroom colonies have landed in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and are now battling for control.
In Toxic Mushroom two players try to dominate the board without going extinct or overpopulating. The number of mushroom tokens a player has in a hex determines if the hex generates growth or decay. Decay removes tokens from the board and growth adds them. But! The tokens a player removes from the board are used to expand to new hexes (so losing tokens is actually a very important part of the game).
Players also can share territory and often you will see players grow their colonies into each other as they try to eek out a thriving ecosystem within the population limit of each hex.
An added layer of depth in the game comes from a focus on gathering ability pieces from each hex on the board. Chomp your opponent's mushrooms with the Mouth, restrain them with the Tentacle, rot them with the Spike, or control their decay with the almighty Braaaaain!
You won't regret playing this one. It's a totally unique game of strategy that turns conventional board games on their head.
This game contains laser cut components. Laser cut items will have a slight amount of soot around the edges, which can easily be wiped off; and will have a campfire smell for about a week after you open them.
