As part of the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Zirkus Mägi Tarot decks, we present two iconic fortune telling decks remade under the Big Top with all the face-paint and tinsel of an historical circus.
In the center ring -- ZIRKUS LENORMAND, assisted by its sister deck, ZIRKUS BAVARIAN ORACLE: two decks in one package for a new low price.
The Lenormand and Kipper decks are connected but entirely separate. They are similar in appearance: each has the same number of cards, as well as several “cognate” cards that mirror one another in meaning and design. But where the 18th-century Lenormand (named for Anne Marie Lenormand, a bookseller and famous parlour cartomancer who was active during the reign of Napoleon) is built upon personages and the symbolism of objects, the Kipper deck has many more specifically situational cards. For this reason, the Kipper seems more dated and quaint to modern eyes, even though it emerged almost a hundred years later; because many of its cards represent specific social conditions in the 19th century.
