Hello Community

This newsletter will tell you about a new product we released that people have wanted since our launch in 2009! In addition, you'll learn about a useful new folding mat that fits into smaller boxes.

We also have the latest information on the Small Box Challenge and our Crafter Con 2021 event in December. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Foil Cards

New Foil Cards at The Game Crafter

The Game Crafter is very excited to announce Holographic Foil cards. They come in Poker and Tarot sizes for now. Foil replaces the white background on the face of the card only so that you can easily mix them into a deck of regular cards. And the foil is on our standard black core card stock so there is no weight or thickness difference that would give them away when shuffled in with normal cards. We’ve created this nice handy help document for designing for foil.

Small Box Challenge

Small Box Challenge

The Small Box Challenge had 168 entries submitted and now it's time for the TGC community voting phase. So go vote for your favorites and help decide what games make it to the semifinals!

Small Bi-Fold Mat

Small Bi-Fold Mat

Check out our new Small Bi-Fold Mat! This is an inexpensive option to create play areas that fold to fit into the Small Pro Box, Jumbo Tuck Box, or any of our larger game boxes. Small Bi-Fold Mats are scored on the face to allow them to fold in half for storage. The score lines are marked on the template.

Mats are printed double-sided and made of our standard 12 point 320gsm black-core matte cardstock. They are an easy way to make player aids and game play surfaces.

Crafter Con

Crafter Con and Protospiel Madison

Crafter Con is The Game Crafter’s very own game design convention and it happens the day before Protospiel Madison (Thursday, December 2). Its focus is on education to make you a better game designer. It features a track of seminars and workshops with industry experts. As well as a play testing room where you can work out some kinks with other designers 1 on 1.

The best thing to do is to get the combo badge so that you can attend both Crafter Con and Protospiel Madison. However, we also have badges for the individual events as well. Click here see all of the badge types.
