Description

Word Weaver is a creative story telling game where players draw cards that dictate certain story elements that use be used. To win, you must come up with the most creative story and win the most votes!

Word Weaver is a story telling game that is great for 1-4 players, ages 12 and up and can be played for as short as 10 minutes but can be played for as long as desired. Each player takes turns drawing cards from each of the decks and telling stories that meet the criteria from the cards.

On a player's turn they will draw one card from each of the following decks:

Openers - Cards that determine how the story teller should open the story. This deck consists of establish a voice, hint at trouble, set the scene and surprise the audience.

Major Characters - Cards that determine a major character type that must be used. This deck consists of love interest, mother figure, role model and side kick.

Minor Characters - Cards that determine a minor character type that must be used. This deck consists of absent minded instructor, alien/beast, babe/stud, girl/boy next door, bum/hag, knight/soldier, loving elderly and nerd/scientist.

Plot Devices - Cards that determine a plot device that must be used. This deck consists of a chase, a cliff hanger, a discovery, a framing device, a narrative hook, an object of power and a twist.

Endings - Cards that determine how the story teller should end the story. This deck consists of a twist in the tale, leave it open and tie it up.

The player then has to quickly organize their thoughts and tell a story based on the cards drawn.

Once all players have taken a turn telling a story each player takes their voting cards and decides which player he wants to award which point value. Voting cards are worth 1, 2 or 3 points. After each player passes a voting card to each other player all players reveal the points they received. The player with the highest total is declared the winner. In the case of a tie, write down the current score and play another round!
