Aluette is a trick-taking game that has been played since at least the 17th century in the region surrounding Nantes in France. On the surface it is quite easy, there is a fixed ranking of cards, there is no complex betting or contracts, and a game only lasts for five deals.
But do not let that fool you into thinking it is no fun! After all, it has been played for over 400 years. Each hand is different because not all cards are in play each hand. In addition, tricks can be "spoiled" if there is a tie for the highest card.
Bring some history to your family game night with Aluette!
Aluette is played with a 48 card Spanish deck which had evolved over time to have some unique and interesting cards. This Fifth Anniversary edition is based on cards going back to the 17th century and includes improved art on the previous edition.
Bright, bold colours, crisp white backgrounds, and simple yet elegant detail make each card stand out.
As with historical decks, there are no corner indices or other "helps" on the cards. However, the deck comes with 4 cards (one for each player) which includes the ranks of the cards on one side and a condensed version of the rules on the other.
