In a desolate sector of the galaxy there is a planet whose original name has been lost to the ages - a world now known only as Arena. Scoured lifeless millennia ago by forbidden weapons in a forgotten war; it is a barren rock with no mineral wealth to exploit, no ancient artifacts to study, no rare species to protect and no strategic significance that would make it worth the effort of colonizing.
Despite all this, no planet has ever been considered a greater prize, for Arena is the site of the Cosmic Combat Championships. Something between a planet-wide sporting event and an all-out war, the Triple-C Tournament is the greatest competition of martial skill in galactic history. Elite squads of Champions seeking fame, wealth and glory gather here from across the stars to battle their fellow combatants while crowds from over a thousand worlds cheer them on.
As the time of the latest tournament draws near new alliances will be made and teams formed to prepare for the coming conflict. It is up to you to forge a strong team and lead your Champions to victory against your opponents in order to claim the title!
ARENA is a battle card game with a strong focus on tactical thinking, careful timing and decisive action. Players will need to use their deck of Champion and Tactic cards to capture their opponents’ Base cards while also protecting their own Bases from being captured by the enemy.
Unlike many other battle card games, ARENA uses shared Rounds instead of seperate turns to create a more dynamic and responsive experience for all players. During the Action Phase of the Round, players will each alternate playing cards, launching attacks on each others Bases or Champions and trying to counter their opponents strategies as they are taking place. The more Bases are captured the more HEX points players will have available to spend each round to ramp up the pace of the action!
The first player to capture 3 Base cards wins the game.

The Orange Box includes 6 different Squads: Nekromansaurs, Psyklone, Guerilla Troop, Prismaniacs, Regiment & Sporenadoes. Each Squad has its own Base along with 12 other cards that make up that Squad’s unique combination of Champion and Tactic cards. Each ARENA set has enough Squads for 2 players to use right out of the box, and players can assemble their team by combining any 3 Squads together to get their Bases and make their deck.
Nekromansaurs: Worshippers of their worlds goddess of death, the Great Devourer, this squad of Saurian sorceresses can call upon their deity to resurrect fallen allies and blast their enemies with dark energies to weaken and destroy them. Some Champions from this Squad are especially hard for opponents to get rid of thanks to their Undead ability.
Psyklones: The Trioptan people are some of the strongest psychics in the galaxy, and members of their planet's squad have honed those abilities to unprecedented levels. While they are not the most powerful combatants, this squad possesses a number of tricks and strategies that let them manipulate the battlefield to their advantage.
Guerilla Troop: While most Primoids are a gentle and non-violent people, their society occasionally produces a few individuals that crave the thrill of battle and have formed their own squad to give them a place to find purpose and fulfillment. This squad relies on their extreme firepower to blast through opponents defenses and excels in dealing precisely focused damage.
Prismaniacs: Hailing from the rainbow-hued jungles of Sapyxi Prime, this squad consists of the amazonian Pyxi warriors and their various tamed animal companions that fight loyally by their side. The Prismaniacs use a mix of physical might to crush their opponents and powerful healing abilities to keep their warriors fit for battle.
Regiment: In ages past, ferocious hordes of Orc soldiers roamed the stars and their fleets were the terror of countless planets. While the Orc are peaceful now, they do have a very active historical re-enactment society on their homeworld that enjoys heading to the Arena on the weekends to cut loose just like their ancestors once did. This squad likes to deploy in large numbers to overwhelm opponents quickly.
Sporenadoes:The members of this squad are a hivemind of various amphibian creatures that have been mutated beyond recognition by the sentient spore-fungus that has spread across their swampy planet. The mind-altering properties of this squads spores are good at manipulating an opponent's cards to limit their actions on the field.
With so many different card games available on the market it can be hard to stand out - but there are a few reasons why we think ARENA might just be the game for you:
It's affordable
ARENA is an expandable card game (ECG) rather than a trading card game (TCG), which means that collectibility and randomized card rarity do not factor into its gameplay and never will. There is no need to buy multiple booster packs or order expensive rare cards from resellers in order to compete in this game, but different sets are available to purchase if players wish to expand the number of Squads they can choose from when making their decks.
It has tons of variety in each set
Most trading card games on the market have their own starter sets for 2 players available, but those sets usually only contain a single pair of premade decks. Players would need to purchase additional cards from booster packs if they wanted to add variety to their games or try out new strategies instead of just playing those same 2 decks against each other over and over again.
In contrast, each ARENA set can be used for 2 player games with 20 possible deck configurations right out of the box. Combining just 2 different sets together can increase the number of possible standard 3-Squad deck combinations from 20 to 220 - not a bad bargain considering the price of an ARENA set is less than $22.
There are multiple ways to play
The Comprehensive Rulebook available as a free download on this page not only has the rules for the standard game but also includes rules for alternate modes that give players more ways to enjoy the game. The standard mode is perfect for a casual game night, and drafting teams with other players from a shared pool of Squads can lead to some surprising combinations and unique strategies. Players who have 2 or more sets to share between them can also enjoy games with up to 4 players as either a free-for-all or a 2 vs 2 team game. For those who enjoy the challenge of constructing unique personalized decks there is also the advanced mode which allows players to choose each individual card that goes into their deck to play against opponents who have their own sets of cards to build their deck from.
Because it’s fun
Most importantly of all, ARENA has been created to provide players with a fun tactical experience that is not quite like any other card game out there - one that is easy enough for beginners to learn quickly, but which experienced card game players can still enjoy. We set out to make the kind of card game that we always wanted to play, and we want to share that game with the world so that anyone else who was looking for that same experience would be able to find it!
Future ARENA sets are already in the planning stages, and we hope that you will join us on this journey as we set out to expand the game and create an even richer and more varied playing experience.
