The Art Deco Tarot is a traditional 78 card divination deck, which keeps to standard interpretations of each card, suit, and arcana. No lengthy explanation of each card follows; rather, the reader is given a single idea on which to focus.
This deck draws primarily from the work of two artists of the period, Erte and Georges Barbier. Both were instrumental in defining the 1920s and 1930s as an era of extreme androgyny, outrageous poses, and outrageous lifestyles. Many of the additional contributors were colleagues of Erte and Georges Barbier and graduates of the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Many also worked with the visionary fashion designer Paul Poiret.
