A Cosmic Being is building a galaxy, and you have grand designs for a constellation that will light up the cosmos. Unfortunately, you are not the only one intent on shaping this galaxy, and your influence on the Cosmic Being is tenuous.

Will the stars align, and light your way to victory?

Astral is a 2-player strategy game in which you and your opponent play tug-of-war over the will of a Cosmic Being to create a galaxy that contains your constellation objective. Over the course of the game, you and your opponent will expand the galaxy, filling it with asteroids, comets, nebulae, stardust, and--ultimately--stars. During the game, you will have to decide where to channel your Thoughts, either using them to bid on the ability to form stars or reserving them to take more actions and manipulate the map on your turn.

Each round begins with a struggle for cognitive dominance over the Cosmic Being. Players each start with six Thought Cubes and secretly choose how many to bid against their opponent. The winner will take possession of the Star Former and command the first turn, but as soon as the bid is resolved, the two players must swap their revealed Thought Cubes. Bid too many against a discerning opponent and you may end up in that position of power with few actions to take.

The Cosmic Being is easily swayed, and you may watch your best-laid plans (and best-laid tiles)--slide away or explode into stardust at the hand of your opponent.
