Bacon, Letters and Tomatoes is the in-real-life spinoff of Pacdude Games' word-based food-themed online video game of the same name. In this card game, two to four players compete to feed hungry customers by creating word burgers!
Word burgers are built with Ingredient Cards, stacked on top of each other to create a delicious—and hopefully valuable-enough—burger to fulfill one of three Guest Checks. Players who build enough word burgers to fulfill a Guest Check get to bank the amount of the check along with a tip for their troubles.
If you like games like Scrabble or Paperback, you'll enjoy this casual, fun word game!
"Who wouldn’t like a game about building burgers in a diner? The art works well too: shiny, bright, vibrant illustrations that look tasty. Well done.
This game is a breeze to learn. Spell words, match tickets, score points.
The guest check mechanism was interesting for one important reason: it worked to normalize the difference between players with larger vocabularies.
Bacons, Letters and Tomatoes is a fun addition to a word game collection. The light-hearted theme and bright illustrations breaths good life into the word-game genre. Like any word game, this one will favor those with larger, more robust, vocabularies, but the guest-check mechanic normalizes this result, which was a nice feature. If you’re a fan of word games, you should definitely check this one out." — The Indie Game Report
