Bad Breath is a common problem that can cause significant psychological distress. Playing this game could make things worse!

In Bad Breath, you are a mint and you want to avoid being eaten by not so respectable characters.

The goal of BadBreath is to avoid losing all your mints.

How long will it take to win (or loose)?

Most probably less than 15 minutes

How many players can play?

2 to 4 players can play. Plenty more can cheer around if you'd like.

Can a child play?

The game is simple enough for a child to play. However, it involves images of beer and cigarettes because it causes bad breath. So, you are advised.

What's in this beautiful mint tin box?

16 beautiful mini playing cards and 12 white color cubes as mints. There are also 2 useful reference cards.

What do I have to do to setup this game?

• Distribute the 12 mints equally between players.
• Shuffle the 16 cards.
• Place the 16 cards face down in 4 rows of 4 cards.
• The oldest player starts. The game is played clockwise.

What’s on the card then?

There are 4 blue cards of breath fresheners:

• Fresh Breath Spray
• Toothpaste
• Mouthwash
• Chewing gum

There are 6 red cards of things that causes bad breath:

• Coffee
• Beer
• Cigarettes
• Sardines
• Onion
• Garlic

There are 6 yellow cards of characters with a favorite thing that cause bad breath:

• Teacher (coffee)
• Truck Driver (beer)
• Janitor (cigarettes)
• Fisherman (sardines)
• Old Aunt (onion)
• Coworker (garlic)

Can we play now?

During your turn, flip 2 cards and accomplish the outcome:

• 2 characters: Discard one card. Flip back the other.
• 2 bad breath things: You lose one mint. Flip back both cards.
• 2 breath fresheners: Keep both breath freshener.
• 1 bad breath thing and 1 breath freshener: Flip back the bad breath thing and keep the breath freshener.
• 1 character and 1 breath freshener: Discard the character. Keep the breath freshener.
• 1 character and 1 bad breath thing: You lose one mint. Flip back the bad breath thing and discard the character.
• 1 character and 1 its favorite bad breath thing: You lose two mints. Flip back the bad breath thing and discard the character.

It is now the turn of the player on your left.

How the game ends?

The game end when all 6 characters are out or if you are the only player with mints.

How do I win?

You win if you have the most mints left at the end.

In case of a tie with white mints, the player with the most other breath fresheners wins.

In case of a tie with white mints and breath fresheners, both players win.

Who is really behind this game?

This game was designed and tested for the Game Crafter’s Mint Tin Challenge 2019.

My name is Gaétan Lanthier and my daughter is Amélie Lanthier.

We create board games as a hobby since 2010.
