Bae: Before Anyone Else was a game inspired by the single card game challenge on The Game Crafter.
With little resources availible and access to only a single card the game needed to utilize that one asset in a big way. It would became the centerpiece of the game and had to allow multiple scenarios to play out without feeling crowded. This is FULL SIZE fun in a single card! Press the center triangle with the red dot into a soft surface gently with a pen tip.
By using present players and their own memories the single card is spun to inquire players to guess words that the individual sitting out has written down on a pice of paper. All of those words are positives and negatives of said player relating to each icon on the card- and when one of the participating players guesses one of the words associated with the current icon, they get a point.
You only get a point if you are the first, so you need to be before anyone else! When Measuring, use eye of sight along a straight edge to the very center mark where the pen tip was applied to create a high speed spinner.
You are more likely to get points by knowing the people in your circle. The first to 5 wins, but there is a catch! You can't have the least amount of words guessed by other players and win the game! So choose your words wisely!
The game also was limited in rules and how to play. While attempting it all to fit on a single card, I didn't want the game to feel small even though the resources were limited. A more advanced ruling can be read online in a free downloadable file where an additional word is assigned for players to relate new words to from the start.
Words used are meant to be personal, favorite items, sayings, personal interests, and even phrases that another player might guess, that may be more than one word. You want the words to be easy to guess, but not TOO easy.
Another Advanced rule: You may also create a word by each player providing a letter, and combining the letters in any order to make a word for the game. Now when players write down words to hide from players it would have to be something a person could guess for both the made up word and each icon. For example if players make the word [Wires], and the spun icon for the turn was the [skull]- a written word might be [electrocuted] as a personal fear if a player is an electrician which has 2 relationships with the icon. More examples of words for [Wires] would be [RGB] or [Bomb] for the [red] icon, [Sound System] for the [Money Icon] [Defroster] for the [Snowflake]. All of these words are tied to the group made word [Wires].
Players may even opt to have partners that you select to be your Bae in groups of even number. The object then, would be to get your partner to guess all the associated words before anyone else does, and so using unique memories assigned to each icon would be "inside jokes" and or memories you both were present for that no one else could guess.
