Description

Experience the precision and discipline of 18th century warfare with Battle Formation! Test your strategic prowess as you lead your army into battle, outwitting and out maneuvering your opponent. Unleash devastating volleys into the enemy lines or spread out and pick them off one-by-one. Will you claim victory with your tactical brilliance, or succumb to the enemy's cunning?

Battle Formation is a two-player competitive strategy game. Carefully maneuver your troops, make calculated attacks, and advance your forces across the board to kill the enemy general.

How is it played?

The game board consists of an 18x18 square grid over a map. Each player chooses one side of the map, sets up their pieces, and rolls to determine who goes first. Each turn consists of two stages, movement and action.

Stage 1: Movement

During the movement stage, troops are maneuvered around the board. Use this stage to advance your forces across the map and to create troop formations. TGC_Description_Movement.png

Stage 2: Action

In the Action stage, players choose among three options. Fire a volley, fire marksmen shots, or call in reinforcements.

Volley fire has reduced range, but can be devastatingly effective at eliminating enemy troops and creating openings in their defense. TGC_Description_Volley.png

Marksmen are an invaluable resource for disrupting troop formations and attempting to sneak past the enemy lines. The amount of damage they can cause in a turn may be reduced but, with longer range and more flexibility to their attacks, they can pick off enemies and thin out formations while staying out-of-range of the enemy's volleys. Calling in Reinforcements at the most opportune times can make or break the game. By sacrificing an attack action you risk slowing your momentum but, if you neglect the option for too long, you may find yourself without enough troops to attack or defend. TGC_Description_Reinforcements.png

Winning The Game

The game ends when one player successfully reaches the enemy fort and kills the opposing general.
