INTRODUCTION: You are a newly hired store manager, eager to show your prowess to the corporate executives. You have been given two years to successfully generate as much profit as possible, and be moved up to an executive position at the corporate office. However, you have stiff competition from other store managers who are hoping to do the same.
DESCRIPTION: Big Box Retail is an economic game for 2-4 new store managers who have to juggle marketing, distribution, purchasing, warehousing, sales, payroll, and employees in an effort to generate the most profit as possible.
GAME OBJECTIVE: Generate the most cash by the end of two years (four rounds)
GAME PLAY: Each player performs market research to determine customer demands, and purchases products for their store. Then, employees will manage store inventory (including new distributor purchases), and prepare for customer sales. Customers will seek out stores to meet their demand. Finally, employees are paid according to their work efforts.
