Blitz

Blitz is a rummy-style game where your goal is to score the most points over 4 rounds by matching 13 cards into Runs and Sets on the table. The first player to play exactly 13 cards to the table discards their last card and wins the round. The highest score at the end of 4 rounds wins the game!

Scoring

Points are scored for matches played to the table or for winning the round. Any matches still in your hand at the end of the round score no points.

Scores are tallied at the end of each round as follows:

Win the Round (10 points) - First player (if any) to go out

Run (1 point per card) - 3 or more consecutive cards of the same color

Basic Set (2 points per card) - 3 or 4 cards of the same number and all different colors

Colored Set (3 points per card) - 3 or more cards of the same number and color

Wild Set (5 points per card) - 2 or more wild cards

Blitzing

Throughout the game you can steal the next turn by calling Blitz.

When any other player discards a card to end their turn, you may call Blitz if you are able to play it immediately to the table (either as part of a new match from your hand or as part of an existing match you have already played to the table). When you call Blitz it is your turn and the captured card counts as your draw but must be left on the table and not placed in your hand. Once you complete your turn play resumes in the direction of play for the round from you as the active player (other players may be skipped in the process).
