Welcome to the studio!
You are the new director and have been tasked with creating the greatest movie any audience has ever seen! But beware, other studios are also aiming to take that prized top spot in the box office, so you better write the best story, hire some big stars and film on the best locations before they do!

In Blockbuster, players will work towards creating the best film they can, managing their money and planning several steps ahead of the competition to grab victory out from underneath them! You start off with 5 'money' and selecting the best Scene cards you can to create a believable and flowing story by matching one or more genres on two connecting scenes. The better your story, the more money you get as a bonus!
You now get to produce the film! This is where you will:
- Contract actors and pay them when you film a scene with them or pay them outright for a larger sum of money and film them for free;
- Silently bid for locations to purchase them for filming rights or advertise in that continent to score points (keep an eye on the market though, you might upset the audience if they don't like what they see...)
- Earn upgrades to your studio through strategic marketing and advertising that give you an edge against the competition
- Travel around the globe and film on location. You get points based on how well you select the cast and location for a scene - so choose carefully! But don't forget... filming does not come cheap. Be ready to pay the big bucks!
