Description

Playing Bounty Ball in 3 Simple Steps

1) Shuffle the Score Cards and deal out 15 on the side of the table. Shuffle the Bounty Ball Cards and place 2 face up next to the deck. Deal 1 secret Bounty Ball card to each player.
2) Take turns shooting pool. You get one shot and you don’t need to call it. If you sink any ball, draw a Score Card and read it aloud. If the ball was your secret Bounty Ball or one of the two public Bounty Cards, collect those points as well.
3) When the last score card is drawn (usually when the last ball is sunk), tally your points. The player with the highest score wins!

Don’t have a pool table?

Check your area, there are likely several friendly establishment with pool tables that can be rented by the game or by the hour. Alternatively, there are many relatively inexpensive (~$20) mini-pool tables found at local department stores or from online retailers.

Skill vs Luck

In Bounty Ball, skillful players definitely enjoy an advantage over novice pool players, however several factors of the game allow for it to be fun for both player types. Targeting specific bounty balls before the other player can sink them gives expert players a worthwhile and challenging goal. Having only one shot per turn alongside the randomness of the cards' values and effects gives a catch-up mechanic for novice players who are discouraged by pure skill games like 8-Ball and 9-Ball. The rules list a couple of variations for altering the difficulty to your tastes.

Bonus Game

The booklet comes with the rules for Death Ball. Use the Bounty Ball Cards to select a secret “Death Card” for your opponent. If they sink it, they are eliminated from the game. Paranoia builds as you wonder if your friend accidentally missed that easy shot or is setting you up to sink a Death Ball!

Other Pool Games

The Bounty Ball cards can be used in place of tally balls/peas for other popular pool games such as Kelly pool - Wikipedia

Blank Cards

The game comes with 2 blank score cards for you to customize to your tastes. For example, if you want a more skill oriented game, you could create a card that says, "3 - ON A ROLL - Take another shot now. Discard this card if you don't sink a ball." or if you want a more humorous game, "1 - NAME THAT TUNE - Opponent must sing a song while taking their next shot."

More blank cards can be purchased at cost. For details or to let us know what cards you created, email indicrowentertainment@gmail.com. We might even include your idea in an expansion set!
