The jockey atop horse number six took a deep breath and took one last look down at his steady mount. Sure he's a longshot, but something in his eyes seems to say it's his day.

All at once the bell rings, the crowd roars, the gates fly open and they're off! The Breakneck Derby has begun!

Breakneck Derby is a fast-paced card driven horse racing game for 1 to 10 players. Thoroughbreds race around the track based on cards played into a five-card Bonus Hand. Poker and cribbage inspired card play and hand building are easily learned, but guarantee wild, competitive action where no two races are alike!

Push your horse down the straightaway by building hands. Take the inside track in the corners while blocking your opponents and pushing them outside to slow them down! Every card matters, and any horse can be moved by any player, so skillful play and a bit of luck are needed for victory. Play money and optional betting rules up the ante with head-to-head wagers and payoffs for win, place and show!

Perfect for parties, game night, solo play, or a marathon session at the poker table, Breakneck Derby is ideal for families, friends, or more "competitive" social groups!

Breakneck Derby is just plain fun. I played it solo and played it with several folks. Great stuff. No matter how many players you have, the game always worked. Games – and the races they represented – were always engaging. Each card played is a horse moved—everything shifts, and not always for the better.
