Chartagon: Traces, or simply “Traces”, is one of the four corner stones of the Chartagon game series. Traces is a collaborative game where you have to find an ancient artefact and bring it back to the mainland to the Queen’s studies. Unfortunately you arrive late in autumn, and the winter is coming early! You have to search different locations and find everything you need within 20 days (moves), or the game is over. The difficulty of the game varies, depending on how you design the board map. In that sense, Traces can be turned into a puzzle/maze game. Or you can think of this game as a multiplayer solitaire!
The Traces game was developed in a flash of inspiration during spring 2020. Although this could suggest a very highly paced game, Traces is not hectic. After all, the game takes 20 days for the characters on the island, not 20 minutes. Just think about all the beautiful sunsets they will enjoy! Also, the soundtrack and environmental sounds (found at https://chartagon.com/traces/soundscape ) gives the game a rather relaxing atmosphere.
Traces is played on a modifiable game board consisting of boxes that you arrange into one or several islands. This makes Traces a varied game that you can adjust to make it just as hard as you want. Of course we could not resist giving you some ideas before you go on and design your own islands! You will find them on the webpage: https://chartagon.com/traces !
When we discovered the Chartagon world and games ourselves, we learned a lot more than we first expected. It turned out that this land had a long history, and was part of a game series together with three other games. The games are independent of each other, but share the same theme. The games "Chartagon: Competition" and "Chartagon: Traces" are already available at TheGameCrafter.com, and the other two are soon to come!
We also learned that Chartagon had both nature and culture of its own. If you want to listen to environmental sounds and some Chartagonian music, you can download the Chartagon Weather app at Google Play! And there is also a Chartagon board game timer, if you want.
Let's not spend more time on text... Enjoy!!!
