Chemical Reaction is a worker placement game for two to six players.
Each player selects to play as one of six chemical companies. Each company has a unique logo, name and meeples.
The game is played on one game board which represents a company office with workers placed in each department completing different actions.
The main purpose of the game is to complete chemical reactions to turn basic elements into more complex substances, in the game these are called compounds and vials.
There are two departments which are used to complete chemical reactions, these are the laboratory and the research and development department.
Workers in the laboratory turn basic elements into compounds and then the research and development department turn compounds into vials with one of six different liquids.
As well as completing reactions, other departments include a HR department which can be used to hire more workers, a canteen which determines turn order for the next round and the warehouse where basic elements can be collected.
Finally, if you don't have the vial you need you can put an offer in with the marketing department. Place on the board what you are willing to offer and for which vial and players can choose if its the right deal for them!
If you can't complete the action you need, you can choose not to place any number of workers on the game board. Any unplaced workers can be used to copy an opponent's action. Any workers used to copy an action are returned to the game box and not avalaible for future turns, so use wisely!
The game contains a number of components including vials with six interchangeable vial liquid colours as well as meeples with custom stickers for each different company.
Elements, compounds and vials are all worth points at the end of the game. When a player creates their third vial, the game is over and each player adds up their points.
In addition to the points for the elements, compounds and vials. Each player starts the game with an end game objective card which contains 10 points worth of basic elements, 3 compounds and two vials. If at the end of the game any player has everything on their card, then 50 points are added to their total.
The player/company which finishes with the most points wins!
