Description

Battle in the Ballroom: A Dance towards Deduction!

Two teams of Chess pieces come to a masquerade ball, and only the leaders are confident enough to reveal who they are. Arrange your pieces on the dance floor and navigate carefully to be the first to sweep the other team's leader off their feet with the dance of a lifetime. You might know how to get there, but the other team's pieces are also about. Who is who, and how close are you own pieces to getting swept off their feet before they can reach the other team's leader? Will the other team sweep your leader off their feet first when you least expect it? Step carefully, and choose your pieces' dance partners wisely because they will show their identity in the moment.

How you move your pieces will hint who lies behind the mask. What information are you willing to give away to reach victory? What can you learn about the other team from their movements around the dance floor? Knowledge is power, and you can control the other team's power with careful deception and misleading movements. Remember that they can also fool you with similar maneuvers.

Want to spice things up? Faction cards add new ways to play! They provide additional moves for pieces inspired by unique moves and features found in traditional Chess (castling and promotion) and Arimaa (pulling pieces and supporting adjacent allies).
