Description
Italy has many different decks of cards used in traditional games. The Sicilian deck has some key differences to the French style deck commonly seen in English-speaking countries:
- 40 cards numbered Ace (Asso) through King (Re)
- Instead of Spades, Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds, Italian cards have Swords (Spade), Batons (Bastoni), Cups (Coppe), and Coins (Denari).
- Cards do not have numbers on them, but rather numbers of objects
- The Queen is replaced with the Knight (Cavallo)
- There are no jokers
