Who plays Darling?

Can be played by one couple or two couples. Two couples play against each other. Each couple is a Team.

Objective of the Game

The objective of Darling is to solve your relationship troubles by making amends, forgiving and forgetting, and getting brownie points. The Team that scores the most points a.k.a. hearts wins.

What are Troubles?

Troubles are problems in a relationship. In a stereotypical world of Boys and Girls, Troubles are annoying things that a person does that the partner hates. Boy forgets Girl's birthday, Girl flirts with the boy next door, Boy criticizes Girl's $300 haircut, Girl fights with Boy's Mother. Troubles have negative points.

What are Amends?

Amends are nice things a person does to appease the partner. Boy gives Girl a diamond ring. Girl cooks a big steak and potatoes for Boy. Amends have positive points.

What are Brownie Points?

Brownie Points are extra points that surpass the solving of a Trouble. But you have to say something compelling and romantic in a given scenario.

What is to Forgive & Forget?

Forgive & Forget is the ultimate solution to a Trouble. Its worth is infinite. But you have to earn it - you must sing part of a song with the word "love" loud and strong. Kneeling is an option, lol.

Note

Despite the stereotypical Boy-Girl categorization in this game, it can be played by anyone, including LGBTQ+ through role-playing.
