Description
Your spirit, having left your body, has been delivered to Death (whom, naturally, was expecting you). After much moaning, groaning, and pleading, Death has agreed to pardon your abrupt ending, on one condition: you must challenge him in a game for the future of your soul.
“Everyone always desires to play me in chess, but I think chess is so cliché. I just don't think I can play another game of it, quite frankly. And besides, people are starting to get really good at it these days.” A white rat with fiery eyes scurries up Death's robe and perches itself in his cold, boney hand.
“No, instead, I think I would like to try something new...” Death pauses in thought, contemplating an alternative as he strokes the furry rodent on its head.
“Ah, yes. I have just the game for you… I call it Deadbolt. Here's how it works: You'll soon find yourself trapped in a large, brick room. Adorning the walls will be four deadbolted doors, and about the floor will be 72 chests. I'll give you six keys, and with them you'll have to open chests, one by one. What's inside the chests, you ask? For the sake of your soul, hopefully, more keys… but the odds are not exactly in your favor. If you do somehow manage to find a key that opens one of the deadbolted doors, I'll return you to your body to live once again as if nothing had ever happened. But if you don't… well… I guess it really is over for you, then, huh?”
Death continues to pet his albino rat. With each stroke, the rodent's eyes seem to glow redder in hue. “My little pets are very fond of shiny objects… like keys. Perhaps you'll find some of them hiding in the chests,” Death chortles at the thought. “You'd better hope you don't.”
The white rat stares at you for a moment, with beady, soulless eyes. Leaping down from Death's left hand, it glances back at you for one last second before scurrying out of sight. “Shall we begin?” Death inquires.
This game contains laser cut components. Laser cut items will have a slight amount of soot around the edges, which can easily be wiped off; and will have a campfire smell for about a week after you open them.
