Description

God may not play Dice With the Universe, but you can! Play with the very stuff of creation in this Roll and Draw game.

Dice with the Universe is a Roll and Write for 1-6 players where 'space' matters! Players will roll Astronomical, Stellar, and Planetary dice and simultaneously choose a new object to draw in their own pocket universe from the results. But place them carefully, most objects can't overlap! Focus on objects that score progressively higher, that give bonuses for majorities, that score based on opponent's behavior, or race for public objectives. And at the end, win or lose, you have your own personal universe to hang on your fridge. Unless the sentient life you seeded in it can't tolerate cold climates...

Setup

Give each player a universe sheet and a pencil. Place the dice and the dice aid in the center of the table.

Place the objectives Stellar Nursery and Expanse, and one additional objective for each player above the dice mapper. Each player may draw one star in a quadrant of their choice on their sheet.

Gameplay Each round, a player will roll all six dice and place them on their matching spot on the dice aid. Then, each player simultaneously chooses ONE of the four options dictated by the dice:

Draw a star in the quadrant of the universe indicated on the Stellar (white) die Draw a planet and orbit ring matching the planetary (green) die roll around an existing star.
Draw the Astronomical object indicated by the blue d6 in the quadrant of the blue d4 Draw the Astronomical object indicated by the red d6 in the quadrant of the red d4

All drawn objects should look like the examples on the object key, and be of roughly equivalent size. Planetary rings and asteroid belts will vary in size (see objects reference) and comet trails will span the entire quadrant. Objects CANNOT overlap other objects, with the exception of comet trails. You can look at other player's sheets after you've drawn until the next roll, but not before.

When you have finished drawing, check to see if players have met any objectives. If so, write the point value of the objective(s) in the bonus box on your scoring chart. You can achieve several objectives in the same turn, and several players may achieve the same objective in the same turn. After everyone has scored objectives, turn all achieved objectives face down. If there are two or less objectives remaining face up, the game is over. Otherwise, the next clockwise player rolls the dice and draw again!

Determining Winner

Score all your universe's objects according to the scoring rules, add points from any met objectives. Highest score wins!
Optional: Before tallying points, players may vote for the best looking galaxy, and the player(s) receiving the most votes score 10 bonus points.
