Dog Daze is a card drafting game for two to six players where each player is the owner of a dog walking business hoping to be the highest rated gig in the city. During the game, you will hire six dog walkers and assign each of them a dog to walk. While the dogs are cute and cuddly, the dog walking business is ruff and far from friendly.
Players will draft their dog walkers from hands that are passed around the table. Whomever you don't hire may end up working for your competition.
Once everyone is fully staffed, dog walking jobs are selected from a shared job board. This is where dog owners will post profiles of their pets along with all of their specific needs (or demands in some cases). Everyone will take turns pairing a dog with a walker as you wheel around the table. Whenever you assign a dog to a walker, you will get an online review rating your performance. If the two are a great match, you will get a nice review and high rating. If not, unhappy dog owners are far from shy when posting an online review...
Pair your walkers and dogs wisely. Once all six walkers have taken a job, the business with the highest online rating is the winner! Good luck and happy tails!
Shuffle the For Hire deck and deal out 7 cards to each player. Each player then selects 1 For Hire card from their hand and places it face-down. Once all players have chosen their card, reveal them at the same time. Then, players pass their hands to the player on their left (clockwise). Continue picking 1 card at a time until every player has 6 face-up For Hire cards on the table. Return all unselected cards to the game box.
Everyone will take turns picking a Dog card and pairing it with 1 of their available For Hire cards. Players can choose 1 of the 2 face-up Dog cards. If neither Dog card is a good match, players may instead draw from the top of the deck. Based on the quality of the pairing, players will recieved a 0-5 star rating to add to their score.
The player with the most stars has the highest online rating, the happiest customers, and is the winner! If there is a tie, the player with the lowest total company cost wins. To find a player’s company cost, add the Hourly Rate of all 6 of their For Hire cards together.
