Doomworks

A doomsday device building card game!

Requirements

Description

As an evil genius, you very badly want to take the world hostage with a devious doomsday device! You gather scientists of various disciplines to help you add powerful components to your machine - each component gives you special abilities...or drastic consequences. But be careful, for other players might sabotage your machine, cancelling vital components - or clumsy scientists, the Doombringers, might cross too many wires and end the world a wee bit early.

Do you have what it takes to survive in the Doomworks?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Players use hand management, card drafting, and set collection to progress in the game. As players collect the right kind of scientist cards, they can activate machine components that give them special abilities, and can change the rules of the game as a whole.

Players can protect their machine with guardians, as other players may attempt to deactivate components of your machine with saboteur scientists.

Players score points for the components they've activated, plus bonuses based on guardians, cards played, and cards with which each player begins the game.

The player with the highest score wins!

Easy to get started, and nice short gameplay. After a few plays you can get into some strategic/ tactical stuff and really make those card abilities work!

This game is a great fun. A game of Doomworks is pretty short so you don't have to commit to much time to it, and it's easy to teach to a new player. The goal is simple, have more victory points by ...

I have decided to compare games to beer, as an esoteric and inscrutable form of reviewing instead of giving something so mundane as scores. Doomworks! rates a Saison, but with something surprising lik...

Doomworks is fun to play, but if someone asks you what it is it's a bit hard to explain. It's a set collection game, with with the intrigue of a spy game, and a taste of world ending terror. In the ga...
