Ensoaped - The one-card car washing game

What is Ensoaped?

It's a two-player single-card use-what-you-have game based on car washing. It's perfect for taking anywhere, as the two pads make it easy to put in gloveboxes, handbags, lockers, anywhere really. It also comes with five cards that you can share with friends or play when you didn't bring the sheets. It even comes with a pencil so you don't need to provide one! And, (Oh wonder of wonders) it comes in cool retro VHS case - perfect for taking anywhere.

How do you play?

It's simple! All you need is a pencil, an eraser, and some loose change, ideally all of the same currency.

Aim of the game:

The aim of the game is to get the most points once both you and your friend have "washed" the car.

Setup:

To set up, put a card or sheet car-side up onto the table, then assign a "washer" and a "driver". The driver must put all the money they are willing to pay onto the table

Play:

1. The driver gives the washer coins one by one until the washer is satisfied.
2. As the washer gets the coins, they put them on the car, outline the coin, then put it in their income pile, trying to cover as much of the car and as little of the road as possible. But be warned! Once you have outlined a coin, you can't un-outline it, so think strategically.
3. When the washer is satisfied with his wash (which can be whenever) or when the driver runs out of coins, the wash is finished and scoring begins.
4. Record the score at the bottom of the non-car side, rub out the pencil marks on the car side (or use a new sheet), swap roles, then compare scores!

Scoring:

• For every car square fully covered by a coin, get two points
• For every car square partially covered by a coin, get one point
• For every car square not covered by a coin, lose one point, but your opponent also loses one point
• For every road square partially or fully covered, lose one point
• ⅒ of the coin value paid (rounded down). E.g. If the driver used $2.25, you’d get 22 points. The driver also gets this amount less.
• Any squares that are ~50% road/car don't count during scoring. These must be agreed upon by both players. If you can't decide, flip a coin!
