Of all the habitable planets in the universe the planet named Erode is infamous for its tendency for accelerated erosion. You are a corporation who has learned the secrets of how to manipulate and control the planet's erosion.
You will build Biomes of huge stacked land tiles in your production facility. You will move these Biomes onto the planet. All of these actions will permit you to build corporate bases to exploit the planet's incredible wealth.
But you are not alone, your opponents have also been successful in producing these land Biomes, and the ability to control the erosion on the planet. You will be using this knowledge to set up Biomes in areas that you can control, and maybe using the erosion to crush your opponent's corporate bases in the process.
The object of the game is to have your corporation controlling the most productive areas of the planet.
You will take three actions on each turn:
*Expand - construct your Production Biome, or moving it onto the Planet.
*Erosion - initiate a controlled state of erosion on a Biome on the planet. Possibly wiping out your opponents corporate base(s) in the process.
*Build - create a new corporate base on the planet.
During play the game state may trigger (or the player may choose to cause) additional erosion and destruction due to flooding.
End game is triggered when one of the stacks of supply tiles is depleted, then everyone gets one more turn. Each Biome on the planet has a point value. Tally the points on each Biome on which you have a corporate base. Player with the most points wins.
Because the turn structure is so efficient, and because there is so much player interaction in this game, you will not experience any dead time between turns. The length of the game is less than 30 minutes regardless of player count, and that includes both setup and tear down. This game scales extremely well for all player counts (2 to 4).
There is something about this game that appeals to a full spectrum of gamers. Maybe it is the joy of starting with a planet that is a pile of rocks and then looking at this beautiful planet that you all have created by the close of the game. Maybe it is the variability of every game that you play. Maybe it is just how challenging the layers of strategy are to master this game. Enjoy!
