Feed the KitTEN is a fun and easy family card game of counting by tens. You play your cards by going up by 10 or adding a card that totals 100. If you win a round you get the kitty token and a little can of food to feed the kitten. The first player to Feed the Kitten 3 times wins.
First of all, my kids can’t get enough of Feed the KitTEN, a game designed by their 9 year old friend. It ‘s a ton of fun and has been really great for our 6 year old and her counting by 10 math skills! *@greenmeeple*
Feed the KitTen is a classic "Ladder Climbing" game were players are playing from their hands to the discard pile. Played cards must go up by 10 each time or, alternately, a player can play a card that when added with the top card will total 100. This option will reset the pile to a new number for the next player. There are two ways to win a round. Either by playing one of the two 100 cards, or by playing all of your cards first. Win three rounds to win the game.
The game (and the kitty) was designed by our daughter when she was 8. She has been designing games for a few years and this one really surprised us at how easy it was and how well it worked. Inspired equally by her love of games like LLAMA, and UNO, and by her math homework she started putting this game together. This was the first game that she actually wrote out all of the rules and was able to reread and teach the game precicely. Previous game designs were a little more wild and rarely played exactly the same way twice.
She made two copies of the game, the second was a gift for my birthday and we played it with all our friends. We had a great time playing it. I decided it would make a great present so I polished things up and had some copies printed in time for Christmas. We gave copies to the grandparents and Aunts and Uncles. We also sold copies to the parents of her closest friends - we charged cost + $2 and gave her all of the profits as well. This is her game and she will be banking any profits (or. more likely, buying legos.)
