Grab your rod and reel and head out to a crisp mountain stream as you pit your wits, and your dice, against some native trout. You’ll need to outsmart and outmaneuver the fish and your fellow fishermen if you want to walk away with the best fish stories from the day.
Fished Out: Trout is a roll and write game for angling adventurers. You'll use dry erase markers on the 6 part board and on your player card to track down fish as you roll custom dice that determine your cast quality and lure variety.
On your turn you will move around fishing locations and use your lure and cast dice in order to catch a fish. Each location will have a unique combination of the type of trout (Cutthroat, Brookie, Rainbow) as well as unique size and fight numbers that are combined when you add that fish to your catch.
But not all fish are the same. Some kinds will require different lures and others just require more to catch. And at the end of each round the kind and size of fish changes at each location. So you'll want to plan ahead to give yourself the best chance at catching some lunkers.
We all know dice can be more fickle than fish, so there are two ways to improve your roles. You can discard dice to change locations or improve your cast. And each player is able to plan ahead and put some lures in their tackle box each round to help nab that special fish. Your tackle box has has some help for bad casting as well. But at the end of the game, every item you used in your box will count against your score.
At then end of the game you'll get points for each fish in your catch, but the three kinds of trout each have different limits as well as scoring styles and bonuses they offer. And there are other bonuses available that reward fishing at all locations and using every lure combination.
You may be ready to catch some fish, but will you be able to align perfect casts, lure types and locations to land those prize fish? And will you be able to get to the best spots before your fellow fishermen? I'll see you on the river.
Solo experience There is a base solo mode that pits you against Robo-fisherman who follows some basic automation rules. At the end of the game, you'll compare scores just like a 2 player game.
However, there are 2 other modes that can be added to a solo game or a multi-player game that adds some variation and challenge. They are the Angry Farmer and the Warden.
