We have been called Sandmen, Moondrifers and Dreamwalkers, but we go by the name Sandshee. We are the masters of the art - some might say magic - of dream teleportation. We not only fly in our dreams, but wake up in our new locations.
This art so scared the pharaoh, that he imprisoned us under the catacombs below the great pyramid and cast a spell to keep even our dreams confined. But spells can be broken... that's what we intend to do.
Flight of the Sandshee is an unusual game. You will all be working together to escape the catacombs and you will doing so in a more freeform manor than is typical in table top games. Therefore, it’s best not to think about “what do I do on my turn?” There are no turns. Players act all at the same time, but there are actions that allowed or disallowed and that will depend primarily on what items you currently possess and if you are awake or asleep and the moment.
Awake or asleep? One of the key concepts in the game is whether or not your character is asleep. This is determined by your Timer Pawn. If the sand is currently flowing, you are asleep otherwise you are awake. But there’s no need to fear being asleep. In fact, some of your most powerful actions can only be done when you are asleep.
There are three general rules that must be always followed:
At no point may a player have more than 2 Items (Tablet, Key, Dove or Lantern).
If at any point (after the start of the game) ALL players are awake, then the game is lost.
If at any point, all Totems (Obelisk, Pyramids and Coins) are on their pedestals, the game is won.
