Frame is a social art deduction game for 3 to 7 players about trust deception. Your goal is to reveal player identities as art owners or the Fraud. Players provide clues and then take guesses, trying to score points by guessing correctly.
Role Cards:
Everything included:
In the Clue Phase, all players give 1 clue about their art. In the Guess Phase, players take turns guessing who has which Role. Repeat the Guess Phase until only 1 player's Role remains unrevealed.
Clue Phase
Beginning with the dealer and proceeding clockwise, each player says a 1-word clue about their Art (the Fraud makes it up). Your clue may not be the same as another player's clue.
Guess Phase
Beginning with the dealer and proceeding clockwise, each player takes 1 guess. On your turn, choose a player and guess their Role (either a number or the Fraud). They must answer honestly.
If your Role has been revealed, you still get turns to make guesses!
End of Game & Scoring
Repeat the Guess Phase until only 1 Role remains unrevealed – the game ends and players count scores.
The player with the most points wins! In a tie, whoever collected more Art Cards wins. If its still a tie, you may just have to play again.
The winner is dealer next. For a deeper experience, play multiple games and aim for a number of wins that works for your group.
Frame is a social game. You can cheat by saying clues that do not describe your art, and people may be fooled once by your shenanigans. But, do not be surprised if they no longer trust your clues going forward. The real strategy is choosing clues that compete with the other clues in order to draw in guesses. Try thinking up a story or explanation for your clue.
