How to Play

Learn to play the game in under 10 minutes. Play the game in under 20 minutes. Have endless hours of replayability and fun!

Setup

  1. Pick a color frogrider and matching color starting lily pad
  2. Set out lily pads in a circle in the center (4 for each player)
  3. Place your starting lily pad just outside the circle, but in between two lily pads
  4. Make sure there are 4 lily pads between every starting lily pad (frog lily pad)
  5. Place 1 of each color cube (of the color frogs playing) on each lily pad.
  6. Place 1 neutral black bug on each lily pad
  7. Every player takes 1 of each color cube and 1 neutral black bug into their “hand.”
  8. Determine the First Player. (Whoever is going last the first turn gets an extra neutral black bug)
  9. Place your frogrider on your starting lily pad and begin!

On Your Turn

On your turn you will determine how far you will go (how many lily pads you will travel), reveal, and then when it’s your turn, move that many, leaving behind a bug on each lily pad you leave, and collect ALL the bugs on the lily pad you land on.

  1. EVERYONE simultaneously, and secretly, picks how many bugs they will spend (from their hand) to travel that many lily pads.
  2. Then, starting with the first player and going clockwise, you will move your frogrider, leaving behind a bug on each lily pad you leave.
  3. If you would land on a lily pad with another frogrider on it, hop over them.
  4. You do not put a bug on that lily pad, instead they must pay one from their hand.
  5. Collect ALL the bugs on the lily pad you land on.
  6. The last player to move, removes the lily pad they started on, putting whatever bug they put on that lily pad back into their hand.
  7. Once everyone has moved their frogrider, pass the First Player Token one person clockwise, and do it again.
  8. Take as many turns so that everyone gets to be First Player 2x. (In a 2 player game, before you start the game, decide if you want to have 3 turns as first player each).

Last Player’s Turn

If you are the Last Player to move your frogrider on any turn EXCEPT THE VERY FIRST TURN OF THE GAME, there is an extra rule/move you make: Whatever lily pad you started this turn on, after you move, remove that starting lily pad from the game. Put whatever bug you placed on that lily pad back into your hand. This will shorten the track as the game goes on.

Getting "Hopped" Over

Whenever a player would land on a lily pad that already has another player’s token on it, they instead hop over that lily pad. They do NOT put a bug on that lily pad. Instead! The player that gets “hopped over” has to put a bug on the lily pad they are on from their hand. The player placing the bug gets to pick which one. It’s as if they get bopped and a bug gets spit out of their mouth :)

Where’s the Fun

Simultaneous turns, easy to learn, endless replayability, and fun for the whole family!

“Who We Are”

GAME DESIGN BY Ron Radcliffe

Ron is a game designer who likes to make exciting games with multiple paths to victory. This time, though, he wanted one that his kids will be able to play sooner rather than later. He lives in Grand Rapids, MI and is a part of GRUBS (Grand Rapids Unpublished Boardgame Society) for over 5 years where they get together every or every other week, year round, to playtest each other’s games. He’s been a Semi-Finalist multiple times (Lord of the Labyrinth, Eldritch Defender), a Finalist in the Table Presence Challenge (Gearwrights), and he's hoping to make it all the way to Winner soon! Good luck to all the entries in the contests!
