The eternal Empire has existed for over a millenia, decade by decade turning into a faceless dysfunctional machine, ruled by ineffective bureaucrats and power hungry governors, whichever is worse.
Now the galaxy is at the brink of full civil war. Rebel factions have risen into open revolt sector after sector as the Empire fails to respond in an effective manner.
In Galactic Revolution, players either play as the Emperor of the declining Empire, or as one of the emerging rebel powers seeking to replace Imperial dynasty with their own.
The game features heavily asymmetric play, as the Emperor has a very different arsenal of tools than the rebel players. Rebel players conduct violent missions to spread their message and to obtain new weaponry, to infiltrate imperial planets and to wage devastating guerrilla warfare.
The Empire on the other hand is busy mobilizing its fearsome galactic fleet. Imperial armed forces mercilessly break down rebel hotspots, while their sinister agents pursue rebel operations, hindering them at every corner. Every Emperor worth their salt knows it all too well: Time is their worst enemy.
Rebels must co-operate to some extent against the Imperial machine, while maintaining the popular support of the people behind their own cause. In the end, all factions are mortal enemies with each other, as there can be only one dominant ideology.
We strongly recommend playing with only Basic Rules when playing for the first time. Advanced rules add much complexity and strategic depth to the game, but it can be quite overwhelming for inexperienced players.
