Gate is a solo play only tower-defense game in which you take on the role of the leader of a small medieval town that is under siege from a swarm of vile creatures from the local forest. You will have to manage the health of your town's gate, the tower, and the local farm. In addition this attack is causing fear levels to rise. If you cannot keep your gate standing or if your people's fear gets too high, you will lose the game.
If however you can hold off the swarm of enemies long enough, you will be victorious!
Gate uses deck-building as the driving mechanic in the game. You will start with three starting cards, but as the game progresses you will be able to recruit new people from your town to help your cause. Each character has unique abilities and some even have special powers. The enemies in the game get increasingly more difficult with each new wave, so you will have to make good choices as to when to spend resources on fighting off your foes, upgrading your command, and repairing your town.
Video Tutorial with Full Play-through
Your stronghold is made up of your Gate, Farm, Tower, and the Fearamid.
You can adjust difficulty by simply flipping your cards over.
Tracking the heath and the fear level of your stronghold is easy.
But fear not, for you will be able to employ over 20 unique characters.
A wave of evil lurks in the local woods, ready to march to your gate!
The game mat adds a layer of theme, while keeping your play organized.

Great game.
Gate is such a great game all around; from art to the mechanic. There is a ton of replay-ability even before venturing into hardcore mode. Once you're ready for more - grab Gates and the extras from t...
Needs Gates expansion for most enjoyment.
I backed the Tin Serie on new year sale (my first order). The game is good - I enjoyed playing. Recommend the extension
This game is amazing. High replayability. I bought the expansion, Gates, and my son and I play that at least a couple times a month. So good.
What a brilliant game! Compact size, concise rules, fantastic art, tight gameplay l make for great replayability.
I love this game. Compact and immersive. For the best experience, I highly suggest also getting "Gates," the expansion.

I can't recommend this game over GATES. Great game but it's not GATES.
Great game, love it!

One of my favorites. These Tin "Series" of games are nothing short of awesomeness. Jason is a master of this kind of thing, lots of content with a minimal amount of components required. The expansion ...
Great little deck builder + tower defense.
A great tower defense game. Pick up the expansion Gates to give Fate some additional replicability.
It's pretty good. I feel like the expansion Gates is necessary for keeping it fresh over the long haul. The art is fantastic, the theme is well designed and it is fun. But do yourself a favor and buy ...

I love this game and have played it several times. I love the small footprint and it is a quick game to pick up and play. Only negative is the monsters are limited in that you will see the same mons...
Just wish the designer would come out with an expansion!! New People,New Monsters Maybe poison the well (drinking water)
One of the best compact solo experience ever. Despite its size, has a very good variance and good replay value. Playing in "hard" mode is quite a challenge.
My favorite solo game so far!
Fantastic little game. Lots of replay value and more strategy than luck. Only complaint is the small cards are hard to grab on my table. I'm thinking adding the playmat will help with managing them...
Fantastic art and tense, addictive, clever gameplay. It's almost too good for a game this tiny.
The full gambit of value, gameplay, size, art, and design collide to make this absolute gem. My lunch breaks have a new companion where ever I go! 5 out of 5, will recommend.
A fantastic puzzle with appealing art in an extremely portable package. I love it, and I’ve just ordered Tin Helm and put Iron Helm at the top of my XMas list on the strength of this design. My on...
At $15, Gate might be one the best bargains for a solo game available on the market. It's thematic, highly repayable, has 2 difficulty options, and captivating artwork. Another great game from GGG.
Fun challenging solo game that is a neat puzzle. I like how you can ramp up the difficulty. Art work is great much enjoy it. I keep it in my backpack for lunch hour gameplay.
Lovely little deckbuilder, reminds me of the Legendary system but with some cool tweaks to make it work with a small number of cards.
This is a very enjoyable, small package game offering many options and opportunities for strategy and replayability. I found the cards to be a bit small, so I sometimes fumble them, but then they nee...
This is a great little game! The best thing about it is the wonderful artwork. The design of the cards and how it all fits into the little tin is very elegant. I love that the rules are simple and the...
Bon jeu qui tient dans la poche ! A emmener partout. La petite taille fait que le nombre de cartes/d'ennemis est limité, d'autres cartes supplémentaires auraient été les bienvenues.
I enjoyed the game! Will play again. Please be sure to spell check your rule book (rule cards). There are some spelling errors that would be easily caught. Also, consider printing the COMMANDS and T...
Easy to play, highly replayable single-player game. The only downside I see is the lack of variation in the cards, particularly the enemies. Id like to see at least twice as many enemies so that you d...
The compact size and solo focus makes this a goto tower defense game. I find that I win quite easily but with minor changes in play you can scale the difficulty. Recommended.
A fun little deck-building game. The artwork, design, and game play are excellent. The size and portability of the game are key features for me, and Gate lives up to the quality I expect from Grey Gno...
This game checks all the boxes for me. It’s small. Fast to set up. Plays quick. Choices that impact the outcome. Highly recommended.
A great little game with excellent production quality. Highly recommended!
Excellent game! Great solo experience with a fair amount of replay. Hoping for more content. Would love to see additional enemy/ hero releases to add variety. Love it. Keep up the great work.
I am a huge fan of Jason Glover’s games. This one is a beauty. Although I’m not sure how many times I will want to play through it. The art is the best part for me, but I really enjoy the mechanics...
Love this game, quick, simple to learn, love the art style, small footprint wonderful for lunchtime at work
4.5 stars is more accurate. This is a great, fun, and quick game . Expansions that add new enemies/more waves of enemies would make this a 5 star game for me, increasing the replayability. I absolu...
Fast, fun and tense. A great little hand management game. A couple of spelling mistakes in the instructions, but that takes nothing away from the ease of understanding. Simply open the tin, set up and...
Designed by Jason Glover. Can’t get any better than that!
LOVE this game!!!... Perfect amount of cards for a complete, fun, thematic tower defense type game...
Great solo game that plays in about 20-25 minutes and doesn't take up a lot of table space. Everything flows very smoothly through the game and it is full of tense decisions (multi-use cards, deckbuil...
I grabbed Gate based on a recommendation from a friend. Even though I knew it was a "tin" game, I was surprised by how compact and portable it was(smaller than a deck of cards). The artwork and them...
