A millennium after it was first written, the Tale of Genji by Heian court lady Murasaki Shikibu remains a powerful work of art. genjimonogatari is a tribute to what some consider the world's first novel—in the form of a delightful 55-card mini-art deck.
genjimonogatari features traditional media illustrations by artist and Tale of Genji fan Maiji/Mary Huang, depicting characters with symbols from their reader sobriquets or various themes and poetic allusions.
By combining the cards in different ways, you can highlight and discover relationships and themes from the story. You can also use this deck for an assortment of novelty games limited only by your imagination and possibly your knowledge of the Tale of Genji.
