George Rae - Plague Doctor

June 13th, 1645 - Dr. George Rae is appointed the plague doctor of Edinburgh.

Your job is to cure the plague or kill the rats that are spreading it. You can sometimes rally the men of the city to help you, but be careful they may interfere with your work as well.

George Rae - Plague Doctor is a solitaire game with multiplayer variants. All of your skill and strategy can be cancelled out by a random roll of the dice. After all, the good doctor can only control his own actions; the rest of the city will do its own thing.

Note: Pictures were taken using beta run. Components have been changed since then; primarily this has been changing the colors used so that it is easier to tell the different parts from each other.

What's with the thistle? I had a nice doctor-man-rat theme going until I got to designing the dice; I just couldn't think of a good symbol for man that wouldn't get distorted in production. So I went with one of the emblems of Scotland to represent man. In the days of the plague, a person had to be a little prickly to survive.
