Introduction

Welcome to “GET RICH!” – The Card Game That Enhances Your Financial Literacy!

Hi, I'm Dr. Roper. With over two decades in finance and a passion for education, my family and I developed “GET RICH!”—a game designed to boost financial understanding through play.

Our Vision: To empower families around the world to achieve financial independence.

Our Mission: To distribute “GET RICH!” to over a million homes, helping parents and children learn essential financial concepts together.

While on a humanitarian mission in Quito, Ecuador, my family and I realized the need for a simple, engaging way to teach financial basics. “GET RICH!” emerged from our desire to combine fun with education. This game isn't just quick and entertaining—it's a practical tool to instill sound financial habits.

Why Play “GET RICH!”?

Every round reinforces key financial principles: - Avoid Debt: Visual cues like the ball and chain on DEBT cards vividly remind players of the burdens of unnecessary debt. - Invest Wisely: Learn to choose assets like BONDS and STOCKS, which potentially appreciate over time compared to depreciating liabilities.

Bruce Lee once said about repetition, “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” Similarly, playing “GET RICH!” repeatedly ingrains smart financial behaviors.

“GET RICH!” will not turn you into a financial guru, but it will equip you with a mindset that prioritizes accumulating assets over debts. This shift is crucial for achieving and maintaining financial independence.

Join us on this exciting journey and change the way you think about money forever. Play, learn, and get ready to "GET RICH!"

We hope “GET RICH!” brings joy and knowledge to your family, and we look forward to creating more fun, educational games for financial literacy.

Game Play

Shuffle the cards, then pass four cards to each player. The remaining cards, face-down, become the draw deck. Play starts with the player to the dealer’s left and proceeds clockwise. On their turn, each player draws one or two cards from the deck and decides whether to discard any combinations from their hand. Asset cards of equal or greater value pay off debt cards of the same value or less. Income cards of equal or greater value pay off expense cards of the same value or less. Risk multipliers are not factored into the value. Players can discard unlimited combinations during their turn. Discarded combinations are put face-up next to the draw deck.

Players can only have 12 cards by the end of their turn. If the player has no combinations to discard that will get them to 12 or fewer cards by the end of their turn, they must discard cards in the following order until they have no more than 12 cards: highest assets, highest incomes, lowest expenses, lowest debts.

If a player draws a Boom/Crash card, it is played immediately. If a player is dealt a Boom/Crash card, it is the first card they play on their turn. The player that draws or is dealt the Boom/Crash card challenges an opponent in a game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” The initiator plays for themself while the opponent plays for all other players. A “Boom” card allows the winner (the initiator or all other players) to discard their highest debt card, factoring in the risk multiplier. A “Crash” card requires the loser (the initiator or all other players) to discard their highest asset card, factoring in the risk multiplier.

To extend gameplay, shuffle the discard pile and make it the new draw deck. The game ends when no more cards are in the draw deck, and the game is not extended. Players cannot discard after the game ends. All asset and debt cards are marked with a risk multiplier (2X, 3X, 4X). Multiply the dollar value of the card by the risk multiplier for its final value. For example, -$20k x 3 = -$60,000. Passive income cards get a bonus by multiplying the face value by 10. For example, $3k x 10 = $30,000. Sum all cards to arrive at the player’s net worth. The player with the highest net worth wins!
