"When gold was found on the banks of our river, many people from distant lands swarmed in our valley. As the old Indian legend of the “Golden Feathers” had predicted, many prosperous towns were quickly built. That legend, however, says something alarming too, something about an upcoming outbreak of a big, lasting quarrel between the settler factions…"
Players are trying to take control over 7 newly founded towns, represented by 7 hexes. Each town has a different amount of gold (the exact amount changes during the game). A town's gold cubes are victory points, that the player with the most settlers in that town scores. The game comes with 100 cubes in 9 different colors, representing the various people coming to the area:
Each one of them has a distinct action. Like placing cubes, moving, removing or protecting settlers, adding new towns, discovering extra gold e.t.c.
Players are free to draw up to 5 cubes out of the bag at once. They should be careful though, as drawing the same color twice will cost them. They can also store cubes in their port, or exchange them with other players' cubes.
