Traditional hanafuda are a great experience to play with, but can be difficult to shuffle. Hawaii style cards are great to handle but requires a lot of space to play. This mini deck of hanafuda is only slightly larger than traditional hanafuda, but shuffles like a deck of cards. When the game is over, it packs away to the size of a standard deck of playing cards. The best of both worlds.
Easy to transport, easy to shuffle, plays on a small table.
The handy booklet describes the most common rules of Koi-Koi, one of the most popular games to play with hanafuda, with scoring rules repeated on the inside of the box for easy reference. The border colours provide help with card types (such as Bright, Animal, Ribbon, etc) without affecting the beautiful artwork.
