Hands Off Me Booty!

The captain and the crew have fallen asleep. Who has the guts to steal the treasure and get away with it? And who will try and help the captain get his treasure back? Find out in this quick real time social deduction game!

Gameplay

All players eyes are closed. Any player, including the Captain, may choose to open their eyes at any time. When they do their eyes may stay open for at most 2 beats, closing them sooner is allowed. After closing their eyes players must wait for at least 7 beats before they may open their eyes again. They may wait longer if they want. This process repeats until the Captain ends it by saying 1 of 2 phrases (see below). Any player that is not the Captain may steal the treasure when their eyes are open. Make sure it is hidden!

1. If the Captain catches the Thief in the act of stealing, the Captain says, "Hands Off Me Booty!" All players open their eyes. All players but the Thief win.
2. If the Captain doesn't catch the Thief and sees that the treasure is gone, the Captain says "Me Booty’s Gone!" All players open their eyes then discussion begins. Player’s choice on how long the discussion lasts, 4 minutes is recommended.

Other Roles Besides Captain

The Captain is the only appointed role and cannot be the Thief. The roles below are for the other players and are a consequence of gameplay. If you want to be the Thief, you can! Just steal the treasure before someone else does. The other roles arise from that decision point.

1. Thief - The player that steals the treasure
2. Accomplice - Players that witnessed the Thief steal the treasure
3. Matey - Players that did not witness the Thief steal the treasure

How to Win

1. Captain & Mateys win if the Captain correctly guesses the Thief
2. Thief & Accomplices win if the Captain guesses anyone but the Thief

This is where discussion is key. Who was awake when and who, or what, did they see? Who is telling the truth and who is lying to protect the Thief? All good questions that need answering!
