Can you survive the Swarm?
HexSwarm: Hostile Worlds challenges you to survive on a dangerous new planet. Team up with your friends to build a colony and defend it from the ever-evolving threat of the alien Bugs. With a mix of an innovative map system and deck-based surprises, no two sessions are ever the same!
In HexSwarm, each player commands a powerful Mech with unique abilities that help them secure the base and combat the Swarm. After a player's actions are done, Bugs on the map multiply before adding a tile to the map, drawing from the deadly Hazard Deck, and passing to the next player. This dynamic turn structure leads to a balancing act between long term planning and dealing with immediate threats, ending in either narrow victory or overwhelming defeat.
Acquire Material to expand your base and defend it with Turrets, or stock up Research to buy powerful upgrades from the Research Deck such as defensive boosts or single-use weapons. Build Power Plants to keep your base running, then upgrade your Structures to increase your resources and strengthen your defenses further. Material and Research acquired during your turn is saved for the next player, so you'll have to plan ahead and work together!
To win, you'll need to complete Objectives chosen randomly from the Objective Deck, each rewarding you with resources and Victory Points when completed. However, as you explore the map, the Bugs are constantly expanding and evolving - spawning new Hives and unlocking deadly Evolutions as the game progresses. Stall too long on your Objectives, and you may find yourself buried alive by the Swarm.
HexSwarm has been designed for one to four players, but supports up to six players with small adjustments to the rules. The adjustments are included in the rulebook.

Pretty fun game with a rulebook that fares better than your typical indie board game. Quite challenging with some asymmetrical powers, multiple nasty events and the art is well done.
